A Christmas to Remember
In the 1950’s eight workers in a remote lumber camp won the luck of the draw for seats on a supply plane to take them home for Christmas. When the plane went down in a gale, it would take more than luck for them to survive.
This is a fictionalized story based on a true event of the 1950’s and told to me during the winter of 1996 by Denise Lebrue in her native French language. Her father played a decisive role in this story. Generations of the Lebrue family continue to live in the same house at the edge of the sea in Petite-Vallée, Gaspésie, Québec, Canada.
